Meet Lola, Discovery Cove’s Dolphin Calf

On Thursday, May 9, Stella, a 13-year old bottlenose dolphin gave birth to our newest family member at Discovery Cove.   

Mom and baby have been swimming, bonding, and nursing since the birth, and the pair have been introduced to a few members of the pod.  

A lot has happened since last month’s birth announcement.  We revealed that the baby dolphin calf is a girl, and invited our fans to help us name her by voting for a favorite name on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

Our fans have decided.  Stella’s calf’s name is Lola!

Until Stella and her calf join up with the rest of the pod, only guests experiencing the Trainer For a Day program can catch a glimpse of them.
