Baby News! Discovery Cove Welcomes Baby Dolphin Calf

We are pleased to announce the arrival of the newest member of the Discovery Cove Family!
After 12 months of gestation, Stella, a 13-year-old bottlenose dolphin gave birth to her baby calf at 7:30AM on Thursday, May 9 at Discovery Cove.
Mom and Baby have been swimming, bonding, and nursing since the birth.
The as-yet-unnamed baby dolphin weighs 49 pounds and measures 43 inches in length and 28 inches in girth.
Our animal care experts and veterinary teams are monitoring Stella and her baby calf calf, and are so excited to welcome this undeniably amazing baby calf to the world.
